A thread to suggest possible site tweaks and ask questions;


1.) photo upload tool
a.) is there a way that you could make it so that it automatically adjusts image size?
b.) when it says pending moderator approval, is that you matt? Its going to be a pain to sort through hundreds of profile pics isn't it?

2.) Wiki - would there be any merit to adding a wiki tool similar to the old site? or has the new design made it pretty much irrelevant.

3.) Will posts on this version be carried over to when its up and running fully?

1.a) Automatically adjust image sizes on... avatars? I'll look into it... maybe?
1.b) It means me. I didn't know that was enabled, and have disabled it

2) I think the new design has outdated the Wiki. I am looking to implement a form so people can submit trip reports etc

3) Forum posts on this site should be carried over onto the live site

In a second response to 1.a it looks like images are automatically resized (look at mine)

The 'pictures' part doesn't really seem to have much as far as picture upload tools.

Would it be possible to add a calendar that can have meetings, trips etc. added to it a la the previous website?

the 'remember me' function does not seem to work properly. I think it may have short-term amnesia.

Thanks for the feedback.

1) "Remember Me" - I'll take a look at it and see if I can fix it, not entirely sure what's going wrong there.

2) Private Message - there isn't a private message feature at this time although I will look at adding one.

3) We are looking at adding a calendar, it's one of the next things to get done. It will probably be done with an integrated Google Calendar

4) The pictures section is just a dead link. I'm looking at getting a gallery installed so users can upload images.

How about some links to the ACC, Island Avalanche Bulletin, weather reports, and Vikes Recreation?
Also, any chance we could change the title of the front page from "Welcome to the Front Page" to "UVic Outdoors Club" or some such?
